If GTA VI unlocks at midnight local time on November 19, this is when each region gets it, earliest first. Reports based on PlayStation Store listings point to a midnight local launch, but Rockstar hasn't confirmed it, so check Rockstar and your console store as the date gets closer. Times use each region's standard time on November 19, 2026. Players in other zones: add or subtract your UTC offset from the UTC column.

QUESTIONS

What time does GTA 6 come out?

Rockstar has confirmed the date, Thursday, November 19, 2026, but not the exact time. Most console games unlock at midnight local time. If GTA VI does, players in New Zealand get it first, at 11:00 UTC on November 18, and players on the US West Coast get it at midnight Pacific time, 08:00 UTC on November 19. That's an estimate until Rockstar confirms the time.

When can I preload GTA 6?

Rockstar's pre-order announcement says digital pre-orders can begin preloading on November 12, 2026, a week before launch. The boxed edition, which contains a download code rather than a disc, also goes on sale from November 12 so those buyers can preload too. See our GTA 6 preload guide for steps.

Can I play GTA 6 early if I preload?

No. Preloading downloads the game files in advance so you can start playing the moment the game unlocks. It doesn't unlock the game early.

Will GTA 6 unlock at the same time everywhere?

Rockstar hasn't said. Console stores usually unlock digital games by time zone, so players in different regions get the game at different moments. The table on this page shows the midnight-local estimate for each zone.

Has GTA 6 been delayed before?

Yes, twice: from 2025 to May 26, 2026, and then to November 19, 2026. Take-Two repeated the November 19 date in its May and August 2026 earnings reports, and no further delay has been announced.
